Digital Scrapbooking Basics

Step One:

Choose and edit the photos you would like to use for your scrapbook page.
At this point a range of 10-30 photos is ideal. It is also good to have a group of similar photos so you have some to choose from depending on how it fits on your page.

Step 2:
Open your choice program (mine is Adobe Photoshop 6.0) and import your photos.

In Photoshop I select "Create" on the top right then "Collage" right below it.

Step 3:
Select your photos and drag them into the frames from the bin.

Step 4:
Now, here comes the fun part, choosing a background and arranging your photos. In Photoshop I select "Create, Artwork, Backgrounds" and then page through to find a background I like.

Step 4:
Next, pick out your frame(s), again many to choose from.

Step 5:
Select the text tool from the toolbar and type your message. Now you can choose from a variety of fonts, sizes, and colors. You can even "warp" or "wave" your text as I have done and add a third-dimension by raising or engraving your text.

Step 6:
Add embellishments, graphics, shapes, and then save as a .jpg.

This is just a simple scrapbook page to illustrate the basics, in future I will add more text to better document the events and the memories.

Congratulations, you have made your first
scrapbook page.
